If you are having a problem with the site - In order to navigate the site and to submit an order via the shopping cart, it is necessary that you accept cookies. Cookies are controlled by both your web browser and firewall. If you find a problem, I suggest you go to the advanced privacy settings on both your web browser and firewall and specify that you will accept a cookie from www.postalhistory.com. If you are still experiencing a problem, please let me know by email or by phone at (800) 594-3837. Please try to copy the precise error message you are receiving so I can get the problem fixed.
How to Order
When you see something you like, click the Add to Cart link above the listing. That item is automatically put into your "shopping cart". Your shopping cart keeps all your things together for you until you're ready to check out. A small window will open to let you know that you selected that item. You can also review the items in your cart by clicking on the View Shopping Cart page. Here you can double check your order, and remove any unwanted items. Nothing will be billed to your account or sent to you until you've completed the check-out process.
Return Policy

Whether you prepay or receive the covers with an invoice, all covers are sent on ten day approval with the right of return.

You have ten days to decide if you want to return a cover.

Allowing your ten days, and 20 days of combined shipping time, all returns must be received by the 30th day after my shipping dater to you

Covers may be returned for any reason or for no reason. Please use some care when ordering. Please only order covers that you are at least 50% certain of retaining. If you decide to return more than half of a selection, I cannot send any more covers.

Covers must be returned in the original holders with the label intact. Do not cut, fold or trim the holder. Do not mark the label. If you receive covers with an invoice, a payment envelope will be included for you convenience. This payment envelope is not suitable for returns. You must use an envelope large enough to fit the cover. I will not accept the return of any cover with an altered hold.

Partial returns are not allowed if the resulting purchase would be under $10.00. In this case, you must return the entire order for a refund.

Checkout and Your Account
When you are finished shopping, click the Proceed To Checkout button to enter the secure checkout system. The first time you visit this site, you will need to set up a new account. Just follow the instructions on each page. You may save your account with a password so that the next time you visit, your information will already be available. Here, you have the choice of entering your preferred payment method, either a credit card number or a check or money order. You can safely enter your credit card number via our secure server.
Shipping
All items are sent via first class mail or air mail and are covered by private insurance. They are sent at my risk. Should a lot fail to be delivered within 45 days, you will receive a full refund. The only fee for shipping is applied on purchases under $50.00 which is just $1.50. Any purchase of $50.00 or more is shipped fully insured for no charge. I DO NOT offer registered shipping. The rate has now increased to well over $10.00 and there are new paperwork requirements. In addition, service is very, very slow. My standard shipping is fully covered by private insurance. If you would like to use an expedited shipping service, I can offer FedEx or U.S. Postal Service Express Mail at the actual cost. Do please note that I can still only send the shipment on Friday morning.
Communication
Email communication has become increasingly difficult. Please be certain you will be able to receive email from me . Internet zeitgeist has determined it is better to not get an email you might want than to get an email you might not want. Spam filters have made the receipt any email as a much a matter of chance as design. Please adjust any filters on your local email program to allow email from jimforte@postalhistory.com. Please also contact your ISP and demand that they allow email from jimforte@postalhistory.com.
Delivery
Shipments are made once per week on a Friday morning. On most weeks, the cut off for this Friday morning shipment is at the end of the day Wednesday. (The end of the day is typically between 10:00 PM and 2:00 AM) Domestic shipments usually arrive the following Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Shipments to Western Europe (except Italy), Japan, Taiwan and Singapore typically see delivery within one week. Other parts of the world can take longer, sometimes far longer. Your patience will be necessary. Credit cards are authorized upon order. The charge will not be processed until 12-14 hours before actual shipment.
There is a $10.00 minimum order.
A $1.50 postage and handling fee will be added to any purchase under $50.00. Larger amounts are postpaid.
