Connecticut philatelic literature is sparse. The work I use is:

The Post Offices of Connecticut by Alan H. Patera

There is a similarly titled book by Arthur Warmsley

You can access my online guide of Connecticut Post Offices here.

A postal history island among its surrounding states, for a long time no one cared much about Connecticut. Now, slowly but surely, there appears to be some life in the market. There are lots of covers available, a wide range of interesting postal history specialties possible, and very reasonable prices. Needless to say there are tremendous possibilities, especially among the cities.

Among the 50 states, the District of Columbia, R.P.O.'s and Streetcars, Connecticut rates as the 30th state in terms of percentage of covers sold at 49.62%. It ranks 20th in terms of the value of covers sold as percentage of all town cancels sold at 1.54%. The overall rank is 30th. This is a ten year running average. The most recent trends are about the same.
