Market

Minnesota covers have never been in strong demand. There are a few counties where there is some interest, primarily those in and around the larger cities. There are now a few more collectors. Most material goes begging. With an accessible territorial period, scads of interesting material, a large population, there would appear to be more potential than has been shown to date.

Among the 50 states, the District of Columbia, R.P.O.'s and Streetcars, Minnesota rates as the 52nd state in terms of percentage of cover sold at 38.49%. It ranks 40th in terms of the value of covers sold as percentage of all town cancels sold at 0.72%. The overall rank is 52nd. This is a ten year running average. The most recent trends are about the same.
