Ohio philatelic literature is surprisingly limited:

The Post Offices Of Ohio by John S. Gallagher and Alan H. Patera is the post office listing.

The market for Ohio covers is dominated by individual county collectors. The market for some counties is quite strong. The market for other counties is non existent. Stampless material is in the most demand, with 19th century material falling a bit behind. With some exception, demand for 20th century covers has lagged.

Among the 50 states, the District of Columbia, R.P.O.'s and Streetcars, Ohio rates as the 45th state in terms of percentage of covers sold at 45.99%. It ranks 6th in terms of the value of covers sold as percentage of all town cancels sold at 3.36%. The overall rank is 26th. This is a ten year running average. The most recent trends are about the same. I thought it might be interesting to quantify the level of interest for all the counties in Ohio. I figured the percentage of covers I have sold as compared to the total of the covers sold and the covers available. Since some of the Ohio covers I sell are not sold to Ohio collectors, I decided to eliminate flags and doanes from the total of covers sold. While not perfect, this should provide more accurate results. This is what I found:
